MAVICXXX 11-21-2005 06:39 PM

last sunday club race,1st time X4 me and my D driver ran,the car was ez handled and speed just nice for d layout as it is stil stock ratio.

I faced problem 1st and 2nd hit wit tailing out at sharp corners that initialy i wana get more steer set up since mine got it understeer, but its kind of bit weird wit X4 coz it has more rear traction.stock 10K diff for our surface here cant coop nicely, its gota b 30K!anyway,i qualified 3rd A by 5secs behind current defending 3R champ,2nd also 3R.I got a better run in d 3rd hits where little touch should bring me good in d final but unfortunate it rains..,
well another 2weeks to go for another test if i wana test out again and this time its gona b more better set up..

but shocking for my D driver friend to qlfy A7th with difrnt driving style and attitude and for the 1st time he completed 3 hits wit clean run and beat/sit wit B drivers those lastime alwaz gona b 2laps front of him..

Agreed! its the total coolest thing i ever see.

Just a tot about the rigidity of the chassis. coz somehow i read that the normal chassis will flex while running or something like.

Please do let us know how it performs. :D

That CF chassis looks awsome. I have a question about the car's center of gravity. Won't taking off more than 50 grams off the lowest component of the car raise the CG too much?

Looks like Toki Engines in Japan are at it again. Toki engines is the main manufacture for all Peak, Orion, Team Infinity motors ( distributed by RD Logics ), and Fantom motors. They are mainly used for high production. I give them credit for trying though.

I already thought about that, so the setup for the car will change, I'm starting out with making the setup to create a lower CG and working back from there.

GrandeGixxer 11-22-2005 07:42 AM

Wow, an overdrive ratio for a pulley that doesnt even come in the kit(25). What I would like to see is a chart for the 23t pulley. Anyone have one?

Thanks rcfoolz. Let us know how it works out. Can't wait to see picks of your MTX4 with that chassis.

The chart for th 23t pulley came with the car. Bottom line is to acheive no under/overdrive you need to run you front tires about 6.5mm smaller.

burito 11-22-2005 10:44 AM

@scott: it's actually 5mm split with the 23t pullie and not 6.5mm... Guess the 25t pullie is coming soon and meant to be used for the rubber tyre guys where no split is possible.

Regarding the "problem" with the position of the rear body posts and the PF Mazda6: I did just drill & cut some new bodies, which will be painted over the winter now, and the Mazda6 does indeed "just" fit with no modifications to the rear posts. Obviously the bumber needs major trimming, but that's necessary for all bodies anyway.
The posts are just "touching" the wing mounts and the wheels are exactly in the center of the arches. Quite perfect actually!
This is all when standard shock-tower is used with the posts on the regular (back) side of course.

by the way, is that cut from a CAD drawing???

Scott Fisher 11-22-2005 11:40 AM

I don't know if the overdrive charts that came with the car are wrong, but I just went and found it (when I said 6.5mm I was using my failing memory). According to that chart you need about an 8mm split with a 23t pulley.

Scott, check your PM

GrandeGixxer 11-22-2005 12:30 PM

I never got that one. Maybe cause I have a jap version car. Anyone have a scanner that can help me out?

mtx-4 CARBO0N FIBER CHASSIS RESULTS!

5 Attachment(s)
First, the chassis is not cut from a cad drawing. (i've been asked for the program already) Scott Fisher, I need an address to send you something.

To switch the chassis over, I just took the car and placed it upside down on a towel, removed all the screws from the bottom and lifted the aluminum chassis off. I then overlayed the carbon fiber chassis and put the screws back in. EVERYTHING lined up perfectly! This took about 10 min.

I just ran the car. I am EXCITED!!! There is 5 pictures of the car. You can read the scales for yourself. The car, with the stock setup was INSANE!!! Running the body in the picture Mazda 6, after the tires wore in (fresh trued), the car was like driving my pan car all over again. I almost couldn't get the rear end to break loose, even when I stabbed the throttle wide open, it just took off! It was like driving a sling shot! Cornering....unbelievable! after a few laps, taking the turns faster and faster, I was hardly off throttle. I ran 5 tanks through the car, and the chassis never got over 120deg, and I was leaning the engine more and more to the point it started to have a lean bog, and the hottest engine temp was at 219deg.

Temp outside was 72. Track was cleaned, not sprayed. Tires:40 shore.
I never want to take this off my car, but I need to send it to somebody for thier test if they want to test it for themselves. I only want it back.
