Default RB

I know you're not commenting on the RB - they tune very easily.

yes, I mean the collari..

you can get the best engine in the world, if you can't make the car turn properly, then it won't do you any good..

I would prefer an RBconcepts but not sure which one any suggestions from the 1/8th guys thanks in advance Peter
If you are brand new to 8th scale world with 10th scale background I would suggest to get stock engines

Novarossi or Rex 321P or if you can find R1 base. Honestly these 2 engines are more then enough for I would say 95% of 8 scale drivers in terms of power, smoothness and tunability.

If you want to edge it out, then consider modified engines like
Rex 321P tune, JP R03, Novamax MX21 and such.

On RB engines, their power band is down low, very torquey, so that will make your car looks really fast and powerful but on the same token, it is very hard to control and you will be fighting with the car all the time if the car is not set up perfectly to the track, tire, susp, and weather!

Just my $0.02

Default RB

Header and pipe combos will change the power band on most motors (including RB's). Drop your nitro content if you are still too punchy. I can tell you that our RB's are the most durable motors we have ever run.

Peter, why are you asking which engine to get since you're going to replace the stock one with the BRB piston sleeve? Any Nova based .21 engine would do right? It's a no brainer since you're going to put a modified crankshaft anyways.

Peter,

Are you planning on running this car at the Sour Grapes at Ft. Myers. That would be the perfect place to test. Gimmie a call if you are heading over next week.

Thanks
