Also- I know there are a fair few tires on the market and a few that are mentioned here & there, but anything that seems to stand out above the rest? I'm currently running sweeps.
Sweeps and Arrowmax are the go to tyres. PMT and GRP are not my favourite tyres the rubber is really hard and works on some extremely abrasive European style tracks but certainly doesn't here.

Yea i think with Nova thats a great combo. crazy how much of a difference setups are across the pond!

Yeah on my 3.1 Cobra GT I’m running quite a bit different setup that you guys in US. Still rocking the flo-control shock pistons though

Awesome! I have a new design catered towards the 3.1 parts back to back they are quicker oils up to 1300/1100 8 hole configuration.

Default Set up for 3 hr enduro

Hello Guys,
Our club is having a 3 hr enduro race. Would like some assistance on set up:

Track is asphalt car park with 125 - 140 ft straight

Engine:Reds Racing R5T Team edition 5.0

Pipe: OS Speed T-2060SC manifold (long): Nova 41005
Which is better for this event: high speed, high torque or midrange?
Short or long header?

Using steel clutch bell. What shoes and springs to use?

Tyres planned to use: GRP7 or Taher from Brazil

Transmission: new type off white and new type housing

Gears:57/62 and 19/24

Thank you

I assume you are running a 3.0 spec car and not an RTR spec car?

You can pretty much run it stock setup which will make the car fairly neutral and easy to drive. I’m assuming there will be multiple drivers on this car during the event.

Short headers are better for GT Racing. With the favourite being the conical NR 41032 header.

For endurance racing I would personally run the standard carbon black shoes with the 1mm springs and standard steel clutch bell.

Tires, I would recommend Sweep 50’s as these are really long wear and still give good traction throughout the life of the tire. I personally don’t like GRP but that maybe just me.

Thank you Dan.
My son is racing the 3.0 spec along with 2 other drivers in the team. For a 3 hr enduro, wont the all carbon shoes be too soft? Will we have to change out during race? Would a 2 aluminium and 2 carbon with medium springs work?. Is the 1mm the hard spring?

Don’t use medium springs in GT. 1.0mm are X-Hard springs. The carbon shoes last long enough for the enduro but sure 2 carbon and 2 Alu will also work. You can try 0.95 hard springs on the Alu shoes and 1mm X-hard on the carbon shoes.

You won’t need to change anything during the race. Depending how abrasive the track is I wouldn’t be surprised is Sweep 50’s will do most if not all the race. Maybe 1 change.

Would the stock serpent 3.0 brakes setup be good for the 3 hr enduro, or do I need the metal disk with the serpent pro pads?

Yes fine. The metal pro brakes set was discontinued. Replaced with the disk and pads from the SRX8 buggy which are really good and less 'grabby' when hot.

They are V2 parts. Remember the original 1.0 cobra didn’t have those parts. Trust me the P/Ns are correct. I mean just look in the cobra 3.0 manual and you’ll see these parts are new.
