Hey Doug. The "warmup" race is the state race scheduled for Oct 6-7 in Arcadia. In addition, there is the testing session that DJ mentioned. Plus, Greg has been opening the track every Sunday. Hope to see you in Homestead next weekend.
Ashton.

Any recommended hotels in the area? Thinking about coming down for practice.

Holiday Inn Express in Arcadia is one option. Their phone number is 863-494-5900 Call early as we expect this one to sell out fast. It is the closest one to the race track. If they sell out you can look in Port Charlotte as it is about 20-25 min from the track.

HOTEL INFO FOR INTOWN ARCADIA: Be sure to say you are coming for the R/C car race. You have to CALL them, don't go online for a room.

Holiday Inn Express: (863) 494-5900

Racers Rate: $90.00 a night. Just tell them you are coming into town for the R/C Race at Nugget's Race Track.

I talked them (Tess) this morning. They still have rooms available and it is close to the race track and close to food and some shopping. If you are bringing the family and want to be close to the track then this is the hotel you want. It has a outdoor pool, it is also in the same parking area as Walmart, Sonic, Wendy's, Dominos Pizza, Chili's, Dollar Store, etc.

Knights Inn: (863) 494-4884

Is also in town, but at the other end. It is a "Motel" like hotel, but we have had some of the racers guys stay there and say it is clean. I talked to them (Alex) this morning they as of this morning still have rooms available. He could tell me that there were; 4 double/ smoking rooms available for the Oct 17-21, 2012. This is a no frills hotel, but its cheap and close to the race track. There is a great Barbeque Place called Slims and you are close to the historic downtown arcadia. Racers rate is $49.00 a night again just let them know you are coming into town for the R/C Race.

There is one more "motel" in town, but we hear it is not the cleanest one, so that is a renters beware.

Economy Inn
I am not going to give the phone number, because I can not recommend this hotel.

Hey guys,
Just a reminder, pit spaces are half gone. If you want one better reserve it.
$20.00 for the entire event.
Thanks
Greg
