I buy all my oil in Cst ratings. No matter what brand; "Cst rating is Cst rating" other than quality control between the different brands.

Well...

I noticed in the last race that a 500 cst Muchmore oil felt like a 650 Mugen oil...

I use Capricorn oils. I think some are different than others, but pretty close. I think if you just stay with the same brand all the time it is OK. I like the Capricorn stuff though. The caps stay on the bottle with no problems.

i always had the same opinion, i was saying myself, if the rating is the same
the silicone has the same results, the only factor giving different diff resistence (for example) is diff case capacity. But, when i build a diff for the 733 of a friend with older
serpent silicone 80.000 (with the orange sticker), and later build my diff with the new 80.000 silicone came with the kit, my diff felt like 30.000 compared with older silicones.

i wonder why there is so much variation among different brands...Maybe there isnt a
consistent way of measuring cst?
I guess Dj is right, you have to stick with the same brand otherwise you ll get lost.. And
when setups are posted over the internet, its good the authors to write also which brand
they used (this goes to you DJ as yours setups are read and used by alot of people :) ).

The older Serpent oils were not rated in Cst. I believe all of the current serpent oils are rated in Cst

of course they were rated in cst! i am an old serpent fun, 710,720 and now 733 :p but time to move now,
this is a capricorn thread! :)

When you change from front diff to locker do you do any other setup changes like springs or roll centers ?

Not to start with. Since I use it if I feel I have an over steer at the apex and want to combat that feeling. I have only did it once at a track that had a lot of front bite for some reason.
