Shaftdrive for Nitro pullstart class. Belts for racing. Even with rubber tires. Racing is racing and requires belts to go fast consistently.

What was it.

oh yeah.

NTC3 (shattered a front solid axle in a corner and blew 2-3 diffs in 2 weeks)

Yokomo (ran for 3 full seasons on the original belts. Still on the car yet after 4 yrs)

Belt car = more tuning options, try over driving a shaft car.

They won't blow up!!! Have u seen it blow up b4? huh?HUH?! Y do u think companies are switchin from belt to shafts? Belt can come off in races ya know. Even with the belt tensioner, it still WILL come off. And that's not good during a race i can tell ya that.

If belts are coming off your car you aint putting it together right to start with

As for diffs blowing up. I have seen diffs coming out of the NTC3 here that were totally disintegrated. The more power you strap in the worse the damage on the diff becomes.

Only company I seen turn to shaft drive are Kyosho. Belts are still the only way to go in Nitro Racing and always will be.

They did not have drivetrain defects. Barry lost his radio on the back straight and crashed, Darin Ishitani broke his suspension on a crash.

And by the way, the winner of the Pre-Worlds was a shaft drive car (FW-05R).

I really hope that Masami feel comfortable enough with the prototype he used at the preworlds in order to throw it out to the market ... or we will have to way 'till end of the year ... or more ?

i saw masamis car here in Brazil..... and all i can tell you is that the car is uncreadible laydown...... both servos laydown like trinity G4 but using the same sistem of linkage of Mugen MTX-3....
BTW it was one of the cars he was testing..... every car with one name on the bumper like GT5 , GT6....
There was one that was pratcally 90% Mugen MTX3 as Masami told me.........
But he told me if he won the race ,the car could be on market in 2 months(maybe)... but unluckly his engine didnt help him and his battery pack finished too!!!!
I saw him training on monday and all i can tell you is that his car was almost the same on the day before.... and he had engine problems again!!!!!!!!he eh eh!!!!!!!
