Default Shopping for a new engine and pipe?

I wanted to know what are some of the things to look for when buying an engine and pipe.

I will be putting my 710 together the next few weeks while I save for this.

I know i need a rear exhaust .12, but what else?
I also know what a hi-end and low-end pipi looks like based on the lenght of the chamber and the angle where it connects to the header.

In addition, what about fuel?

I am pretty new to nitro engines, and this will be my second nitro car.

for a 710, you can put any SG-SHAFT Engine in there along with a one pipe pipe, heres a picture http://www.rdlogics.com/1pc.htm

I would get a either Novarossi, RB, Mugen.... all that are in the big names, pipe is the same but you can add RD Logics in there too.

Fuel, most people go with 20% or 30% oDonnell

I would recommend a STS D3 engine.

CRC has them on sale right now for $149 and they are up there with the Nova Rossi based engines

however, are all the .12 engines the same as fas HP or number of ports ?

What do i need to look for in that sense regardless of brand?

Not all .12's are the same. There are 4 ports and 5 ports.Turbo and Non turbo. And the hp ratings are all different. If you want a super strong .12 get a Rossi,Sirio,or Novarossi.

Or maybe hold off a couple of months for the new MPP Palmaris .12

Rossi are fast engines but they suck for tuning and need a lot of attention. Same with some of the others.

If you need an engine right away that is quick and easy to tune I would recommend the RB V12 or the Novarossi NS12.
