They will probably be the same when new but Serpent's own bearings are the only ones we ever had trouble with in the wet. The rubber seal purple bearings are total rubbish. Serpent do state not to run them in the wet so I guess places like here, Scandaniavia etc cant run Serpent cars most of the year :lol:

It's funny how the Yokomo bearings never got effected with our wet weather racing. The Acer racing bearings, skf, or Boca are brilliant bearings (metal shield) as are the XTM bearings which are slightly cheaper.

Yes.
They are more smooth, and run defenitly more free.

The problem with rain and the Serpent stock bearings are new to me.
I run the Acer racing bearings, and a friend of my the stock bearings, and we both race in the rain now and then.
He hasn't had the problems.

I think a full set of Serpent ceramic bearings will be a lot more expensive than $99. Look at what their regular purple shielded bearings cost. I have never seen a full set of those but when buying in pairs you spend more than $99...

I might give Acer a try.

Yes its cost more, but save your plates many times. You just need to polish the plate everytime you rebuilt.

Ceramic Car(710)-kit from Boca consist 25 pc. Does not include steering crank, ball-bearing in the diff is not ceramic but they put 2pc 2nd spur flange bearing.

WOW :eek: these guys are quick!!!! The 710 kit doesn't include the centax bearings. They didn't say if the kit contains the loose ball bearings for the diff - just checking.

I bought some ceramic diff balls on eBay a couple months ago (10 USD) and I am very pleased with them so far.
Even after not cleaning the diff for seven weeks, the diff still worked smoother than a brand new stock diff! I finally cleaned it last night just for the hell of it.
