To check your crankshaft you can put it (the clutch end) in a eletric drill and lightly tighten it then turn it . Use anything straight for a reference as you are turning it. This method also works great for polishing it too. Note: don't try to use the crankshaft if it is in fact bent even slightly as it will damage your engine! Also I have a question for the serpant guys? Mine came with this oversize foam bumper and the bodys I build you have to really trim it Do you mind doing this or would you rather have a body made that would fit it?

Thanks for the tip with the drill - I had wanted to do this, but I only have a dremmel :cry: my crankshaft doesn't fit into it :cry:
I never mind trimming my bumpers - I had to do this for the 705 to fit the Stratus 2.1 :nod: I can always buy another bumper easily enough.

I've put the Helios in my hands with the antenna extended <ahem, ahem>. It felt really good and balanced than the 3PK I have. But then, you need to add an external failsafe when you use the Helios because it does not come with one like the 3PK.

I think you confuse with the spring steel wheel adaptors... Unlike the rear ball diff for the previous 705, Serpent made the Hudy one. But that was actually standard for the 2WD Impact !

rjl, are you running a 710?:confused: Like crashed_1 mentioned. yes the rear diff outdrive on the rear ball diff unit wears. I guess the right side first and eventually the left. I just had both of mine replaced after a few good gallons of racing.

It would be good if Serpent came out with the spring steel option. The pin in the dogbone will make a dimple inside the outdrive and cause the rear wheels to hop or jump when you accelerate. I believe this is caused by the dogbones getting trapped in the dimple and does not move freely. It will come to a stage when the rear suspension binds. So sometimes you'll find the rear end of the car just spinning off when you turn for no apparent reason.

I had a 3PK before and it rocks...but i've recently changed to a HELIOS and it KICKS ASS!!!...the failsafe thingy is the least of your problems...install a failsafe unit and that's it. On the other hand, the Helios is so much more nicer to hold for long mains*cough* as it's well balanced in weight and the antenna is much shorter which does help...:rolleyes: The functions are almost identical with 3PK cept for some things like brake mixing and stuff which any of us hardly even use. My choice...HELIOS. You won't regret it. 3PK would be second.;)

I noticed it happened to yours quite frequently...it happened to mine when braking into corners.:(

Where did you buy your Helios? Can't wait to get my hands at it.. I already puchased the wheel extension ... hahahhaa funny... coz the shops I went to didn't have em in stock.. out of stock..

The extension is a must, it not only feels good, looks good too...:D

What servos are you using with the radio? I have a failsafe unit on the car and it's a little too safe...activates after about 10 tanks.:confused:
