There may be both silver and copper. There should always be a silver one and it should always be in contact with the sleeve.

Yup, the thicker silver one should always be the one in contact with the piston sleeve as the copper ones (if you add them or are there by default) are thinner and can easily be subjected to damage.

I used the Volvo wing on the Stratus 1. It gives a little more steering in high speed corners. The Volvo is a good shell for small tracks. It is good in tight corners. It's a little edgy in very high speed sweepers like the corner onto the straight at heemstede (80kp/h 2nd gear full throttle)

Thanks Julius.
What bodies do you guys run on a high speed, high grip track?

At the moment I am quite impressed with the Frewer Stratus. It's sold here by Serpent, but may be a direct frewer product elsewhere.

It's very close to the Protoform Str2 and as such is very smooth and predictable.

Bodies and setup go hand in hand. I talked to Michael Salven yesterday about the race he and Rene had in germany. He had a setup with the Stratus 1 and switched to the Frewer body and had to change the rear roll center to get it to work at it's best.

That makes comparing bodies a difficult task....

Any idea what he did to the rear roll center? I would think the Stratus 2.1 gives more rear downforce than the Stratus 1 but I may be wrong...

The str2 gives more grip all round but also a lot more steering. He changed the top point from InnerBottom to InnerTop.

Julius,
Could you give us an update on the status of the changes being made to the 710?
We know the shock towers are already available.
What other parts are being changed and when could we expect them on the market?

The only changed parts were:
- Rear tower
- Rear arm (longer hole for the pivot ball)
- Top bumper plate (new material and thicker design)
- Lower bumper plate (new material)

I don't know the market dates, as they depent on distributers stock etc.

You mean from UBI / LB to UTI / LB? That would make for lower rear roll center (more rear grip) than the stock?

That's right. As the Stratus 1 has less steering using the higher roll center helps loosen the rear a bit. With the extra downforce and steering of the Frewer Stratus you can use the lower roll center to get more grip and still get the steering.
