Ah! Sure, Sow's available anytime - you can keep him if you wish But the Pit Prophet isn't available for hire
Send Sow over and we will put him to work. There are 4 of us to keep him busy. Who said anything about "hire"? That insinuates payment. We are low budget over here. It's all about the racing. If I could just get Frances to retire from driving, he would make a great pit monkey.

You want the best, you have to pay for it

Put a bearing in the first gear pinion before tightening onto the second pinion. This seems to lessen the chance of binding between the pinion and bearing.

So you think that tightening the gears to the clutch bell is what causes the problem?

What about that hotel? Did you talk Mr. Flaky into going on Saturday?

The way I look at it, if the bearing is able to move a little, it has to be better than if it is jammed.
After the race at the weekend, both my bearings are perfect - this is the first time I've not had any problems.

Tightening the gears onto each other. Like Master Mark said, it's better to have the bearings easy to move. I find that with the bearings in before tightening then it doesn't bind.

Jag...we're not sleeping over this weekend. Did you miss the email?

Guys,

I recently got the 20t pinion. Tried installing it last night and found out that I don't have a proper tool for this pinion. The pinion wrenches that come with the kit only goes down to 21t.

So, my question is, how do you guys remove/install odd sized pinions likt the 20t one?

Any idea if serpent makes a 15t pinion?

Cheers...

Any reason why?

Well, now I have 1st and 2nd pinion sets stuck together with their bearings respectively. Easier I think. But I've always used the crude and lazy way if I wanted to take the bearing out. Use a hammer to tap the bearing out slowly.

Good question. Use a towel, grip the 20T with a plier.

Why would you want one? The trick is in the clutch. Get it correct and you'll find even the 16T too punchy.

BTW, I believe Serpent did say that it is impossible to make the 15T in that diameter and in 0.8 module.

Anyone know the size of the ZX12 carb venturi? I see on the parts list it is stated as 5.5mm, but I thought to be legal it has to be 5.4mm

Thanks..

Haha... back to the old trusty towel and plier method.

I suppose what you say is true about not needing 15t for 1st gear. Guess I'm just a bit itchy. 0.8 module can't have 15t? Oh, didn't know that. Another thing learned from the great Prophet.

It can't be bigger than 5.5
Nova makes them 5.4 to be safe. Mega makes them to the legal limit
