Anyway, I don't clean those bearing regulary. If they are grittless, I let them be. I use them new without degreasing the bearings. I find they last a lot longer at the expense of some smoothness. I thought I did mention this earlier that I degreased all my bearings except the small ones that goes into the clutch and the flanged bearing that goes into the 2 speed hub.

The other reason why I don't degrease and put thin oil in those bearings is because they do more harm spitting out oil excess into the clutch bell which can affect performance.

If you really need to oil them because they are dry, try packing light grease into them and clean the outside.
Yep, maybe the end-play is a little too tight. I've gone through about 6 bearings so far
I use a 40w oil when I clean the bearings, which seems quite good. I also didn't want to use a thin oil for them for the same reasons which you said.

I also need to readjust my clutch, as the car was a little bit "lazy" coming out of the corners last night - my engine tuning seemed ok, so it must be due to the clutch, I think.

I've ordered some of the new serpent rims with 40 shore tyres - looking forward to seeing how they hold up to my mad driving
It was really good to get back to driving again - first time in quite a few weeks (a month I think). The car was still runing really well and I only had to make a slight change in the rear anti-roll bar setting to get a bit more steering - this was the best setting I've had so far with the car and I could really fly out of the big sweeper on full throttle.
I've ordered the new anti-roll bars, to see if this further improves the amount of steering.

40wt oil as in shock oil? Becareful as they are silicone based. If for some reason they splatter on the clutchbell, they tend to stick on it more stubbornly than normal oil. Make sure you clean them properly.

Yeah, the harder the REAR sway bar setting, the better the car becomes. Especially on throttle.

Ok, will be careful with the oil. What I normally do is to clean them with brake cleaner; put them in the oven for a good 10 mins at about 100 C and then whilst still hot put oil on the shields and let it seep through - which happens quickly as the bearings are still "hot".
After they have cooled down, I wipe all excess oil off.

Have you already got the new anti-roll bars?

If you use the 5x10 bearing from kit or from Boca (hmm ) it is okey to install it directly from the box.
But if you bought from bearing shop, i suggest you to degrease it first then re-lube it with serpent oil 1 drop or 2 and spin it on the shaft. then wipe the outer shield with tissue. This should last forever, and like D said, i never re-lube it again.
Just spin the clutchbell after engine rebuilding to make sure they still smooth.

Im not sure why but i have some case like that in my local track.
Maybe coz the oil they use can not stand the heat.

I'm really behind when it comes to new stuff on the car. I don't even have the metal bits in the car.

Ask crash. He should be the most updated. I think he has the things you have including the setup wheels and all.

I've bought the metal bits, but none have been installed

Hi Markp27,

Wath bit's do you mean, these:

http://www.mytsn.com/products/desc.asp?prid=3789

I have them in my car. I don't know if it's a big upgrade, because I bought my car as well as all the hop-ups and parts I wanted.

You're in Florida.

A lot of folks mentioned Serpent USA http://www.serpent-usa.com/

Otherwise try the following:-

http://rc-mushroom.com/
http://shop.the-border.nl/customer/home.php

I've not used Serpent-US but the other two are good.

Well done D, I knew you wouldn't let us down.

Errmmm, maybe it your age but you forgot to mention which one does not support failsafe. Me ... I know I'm old already.

Maybe its the twister thingy ... I feel for those folks like XER987 in Florida.
