Default rb v12 r3 ?? is this a good deal???

some one is offering me a RB v12 R3 for $300. wanted to know if it was a good deal. this is the version he is trying to sell me. the engine is new and in the box.http://www.rbproducts.com/mainEn.php...t=01700-000630

i have also had my eye on the picco red dot... would this be a better engine then the rb... i need a durable engine.

Yes, that engine for the price, it is a good deal. It is not the latest model of RB, but I believe it wont let you down... Friend of mine has a Murnan Modified version of it and this is going to be his third season with it.

Unfortunately my last seasons experience ended up like this

and
http://www.rcinfo.lv/ViewImage.php?i...7/IMG_3332.JPG
but besides that, it was an excellent engine.
It holds tune really well and has tons of power. Also it is not so sensitive to needle settings as red dot. I would call RB R3 as a really work horse with plenty of controllable power.
Of course, there are many success stories of well going red dots, but from my experience, in average, you will get a lot less trouble with R3 than red dots. Besides that R3 is bit less sensitive to temperatures and doesnt have conrod snapping issue.
Even though my 3R crank case broke on the last race of the season, during 10min before a final, im still very happy with performance and will use it for next season as well.
300$ for it sounds to be reasonable price

Its not the first time I have seen an engine go like that... A friend of mine lost a new MF in 301 due to a crash on the straightway... I have also seen .21 engines break in the same point...

With normal use this will not happen, you can call a crash a bad experience but a broken engine from the crash does not mean it is a bad product.
