It was awsome racing the GT cars at CP. I wanna go back, I think I can do some real damage to that pretty paint job DJ's got on his DM1.

shouldn't the c-main be at least 20min? Also will there trophys for the lower mains? with 7min quals you still have a 3min warmup so thats 10min quals? Will we have enough time?

I am starting to see that it is not gonna take a rocket scientist to figure out that there may be some influences here by racers of motors that can't go 5min without a pitstop. Considering the competition rumored to be coming, 7 min quals will give them a better chance to TQ or qual higher.

Also cutting the GT class is really shooting yourself in the foot, look at the increasing number of folks getting these cars, the tracks weather private or club should support any up and coming class or we should not gripe about onroad numbers shrinking. If you start on time and run the program tight...U will have time. Dana used to have his TFT for 1 day only, usually over 100 entries and was finished with quals and mains by 5:00pm. It can be done...just my 2 cents, see U guys at the TFT, CP and GLARCRC

Default Hey guys : Baised on the past 10 years time is a isue for toys 4 tots @ crystal

hey guys : its not an easy thing to run a race program for over 100 people
baised on the last 10 years:Some people who fly out to race with us have to leave early & cant run there mains:
We were asked again by allot of racere to make the quals, longer:
the last time i tried to make the quals longer by request:
my time table was way off... it was drak>>>!
i was the goat ::
This time i asked the assistence of some key racers to help with the time change:& running the event...= the race committee.

It was brought to my attention again about the time frame :
I have a DM1 myself and wanted to run it not thinking of the time frame:

The race committee is a group of racers who want to promote a fair, time effishent race for people to enjoy with little or no problems...

i had to agree with the committee baised on previous toys 4 tots .
We have raced 110 th scale sedan &
1/8th scale 4/w/d...
no masters class
no sportsman class

with as many as 185 entry's... time has been an isue...
Last year we had 163 racers, we had to cut 43 slots from last year to make the race program work within the time frame. thus = limit , 120 racers.

This is nothing against the DM1 class , Masters class, sportsman class: or the 43 slots we had to cut, time is the isue :
More people want to run longer Quals : & we cant do both. time is an isue..

DM1 class will be run at the crystal park club races on the 3rd sunday of every month..& any other promoted races by promoters...
everyone welcome.... Trophies & everything...!
Time is not an isue then..

I am sorry for any mixups or missprints...
It's never fun being the goat...
That why i asked the race committee to help run this race cause 5 heads are better than 1.. & the vote is never even..
please feel free to call me

150 entry's
15 heats (10 cars per heat)
10 minutes per heat (3 warm up, 7 min quals)
150 minutes per round (2 hrs 30 mins)
3 rounds (7 hrs 30 mins)

Racing starts at 9:30 am and is over by 5pm

Looks like it should work to me, and thats adding an additional 30 entries. You should have room to squeeze the GT class in. Provinding a tight schedule is run and adhered to.

James...when I was referring to Dana's race, I was doing a little simple math, sorry for the confusion but all of his TFT's were over 100 entries and run in 1 day, quals and mains, with out of town guys there as well. RAMS have done the same in the past with races setting up and tearing down the track just as our club does.

I am in no way trying to argue but the point is GT racers are willing, supportive, and eager to promote the class. Yes I like that U are including them as part of the CP club racing just as we do but special races mean more to a racer than club level events and I think U should reconsider. I saw U running a GT car last weekend with a big smile on ur face.

I'll even go with saying that I am so confident that it can be done, if U want, I will sit at that computer for those 2 days, free of charge, and will get it done!!. Again this is just a friendly gesture to help promote a new class at all the local tracks and whatever U decide is best for your track and program, I respect. We will be at your event and we hope that u guys will support ours. Lots of folks will be looking for that CP crew!!
