Hey, don't forget Kyosho cup UK in September!

Here's some info I posted in another forum:

1. Change the front diff oil to a heavier one, make the front diff really stiff.
2. If you use rubber tires, change the shock oil to 250, the standard is 500 and is only good for the smoothest of circuits (unless you use sponge, then keep it at 500)
3. Ride height! Depends if your bashing or at a smooth track. 5mm (but make front slightly lower) for a smooth track, and at least 7mm, probably more, for bashing.
4. Make sure the engine is tuned properly, most advice that comes from the engine manufacturer about carburettor settings is garbage.
Here is a good guide by HPI on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5mzv...elated&search=
REMEMBER - just because you tuned it and it worked the other day, the correct tuning may change a lot due to the weather conditions.
5. Replace the silicon fuel tubing with a thicker type - you will gain 10 -15 % more power over the original tubing

Thanks for the help Bozla. Are you taking part in the Kyosho Cup ?

I tried the set up link but there is nothing on the page. I went through the website and got the same.

All the best,

That link worked for me, but this one might be easier to read.

Yeah, kyosho cup will be held in September. It was originally going to be 3 rounds but due to lack of interest it will be one round in Spetember. It's gonna be held at 8-9 September Cotswold, Hertfordshire.

If you wanna enter go to the Ben racing website and call Ben Kelsall. We def. need more racers in S class (else it looks like I'll win by default!)

Hi Bozla,
Where is the Cotswold track ? I thought it would be in the Cotswolds !! lol.

What is the difference between the R and S class ? I have the FW05T, and Ben says I'll be in the R class. Does this mean I can use BRCA standard 200mm rules, and not have to use all Kyosho stuff like bodyshells.

bozla 07-20-2007 03:29 PM

yeah, the rules are pretty relaxed - you don't need a kyosho body at all. The difference between S and R are engines. The standard GS15 or GX15 engines are for the S class, but the R class is for any engine (up to .12 I think). The S and the R class will run together though.

Here's the link for the circuit, I've never been there though.

Hi Bozla, thanks for the info. So it is in the Cotswolds !! - not Hertfordshire as BenRacing are saying. I'm tempted to come down, but I'll have to get the new engine tuned first, if it ever stops raining !!

Well, Ben is organizing the event so best listen to him. I think the cotswold circuit is in Hertfordshire?! Not sure...

any fw05 shafters here be able to help me? limited information about fw05 is available so i have decided to ask here. i currently own a fw05-s and i have problems when i upgraded it to 2-speed transmission. the second spur gear seems to rub against the 2 speed clutch bell when i assemble it.

does anyone knows if the option part (LIGHT WEIGHT CLUCHBELL FOR FW-05
VZW043) or (LIGHTWEIGHT CLUTCH BELL (RRR)
VZW213) will be able to solve the problem? i have checked the website on the parts acceptable list and it shows thats it an option part(suitable). i am using the stock engine GS15R and normal 2 speed clutch bell (VS058) that comes with the 2-speed transmission for GS15R.

i just want to be sure before i commit into buying. sorry if this have been asked before. any help will be appreciated .
tks a lot guys.

No that clutch bell will not work. Thats for the 3d clutch and that will only work on a pilot shaft engine.

There are two different optional 2sp available for the "s". One is for the stock engine, the other is for pilot shaft engines. Did you get the right one?

tks dude, i got the2 speed transmission set for GS15R thats comes with the clutch bell shown in the pic i attached . part of the second speed spur gear rubs with the clutch bell and my LHS have been very helpful to help me grind some bits off the spur gear so it will not rub, however, its too troublesome to always get the helpful guy to grind for me everytime i need to change the second speed spur gear. so i thought maybe changing the clutch bell might work. its not the 3D clutch though. any ideas people?

Something is not togther right. I have an 05t that I installed your engine and the 2sp and I don't have that problem.
