It's not a good idea to cut the bumper like that. The reason is because you are not protecting the front wheels with a narrow bumper. It's common for the pillow balls to pop out of the front uprights on impact. But with the longer bumper, this seems to happen less often.

Also, I guess because of the price of a Mugen, you won't see too many people put rubber tires on one. Most people buy a Mugen strictly to race which means foam tires. Although I see you do have a tranponder so do you race a rubber tire class? Anyway, to each his own, in my opinion. Just go have fun with it.

you should replace that bumper you just cut.its nonsense on cutting it.as what jetmd said it protect the uprights and tires.plus if you hit your body form the side it will creat a huge ding.that afect the aerodynamic and creat ahuge drag to the tires.
