Default Duel: ICC Kart vs. 1/8 On-Road...

Look at this. ICC Kart vs. 1/8 On-Road. Very interesting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FR-P_OeMEtU

For those who doesn't know what means a ICC Kart I'll need to say that are powered by a 125cc, 2 stroke engine who roars thru a 6 speed sequential gearbox (in fact, during the video you'll hear the kart shifting thru various gears). Estimated horsepower for the ICC Kart: 45HP.

Thumbs up

I expect that if the RC driver had been able to see the whole of the track the result would have been even more dramatic.

Craig.

Yep... poor ICC Kart driver... being greased by 'a toy'... Nothing beats a 1/8 scale car in acceleration.

We have tried that in the early eighties in the Philippines and same exact results these 1/8 RC cars are just way too fast for the Karts in the eigthies there is only 1 speed rc cars and same 1 speed go karts. but we were able to drive the full course of the (kart) track by the end of the 5 minute mark the RC cars are 5 1/2 laps ahead

1/8th scale would win at anyday anytime. Power to weight ratio is ridiculous. And ICC has restricted airbox and restricted silencer per class rules anyway, weighing in wet at 385/400 lbs minimum and imagine even with 3 disc brakes, it'll still take some time to slow the kart down and accelerate from a dead stop.

Maybe a MOTO with regular air intake and no weight minimum might be closer, but still... 1/8th scale wins.

Im not sure what all the stop and go was about. But still pretty cool. They should have run more full laps together. Or maybe give the kart a head start.

the cart needed a 1/4 lap head start to have a chance if the whole track had been able to be run

I am not sure the driver stand is tall enough to see the whole track, nor the driver can SEE the rest of the track....nor the 950R are able to receive signal from the radio (out of range, several shot showed the driver turn around and avoid lose signal...)

Last year one of the RC mags had Joel Johnson do a similar race while wheeling a Triple RRR, with the the rc coming out on top. Very impressive.
