Hey Alan:

The PF T530 is the body for a stock setup on the 4R so you can take it as an all rounder body. I like so much the Kyosho Dome Mugen, is quite different on the track (10 cars with the same body is boring), lots of steering and superb handling. In fact.

I leave the PF T530 on home and rely on the Dome Mugen. I need to raise much lesser the gurney flap on the Dome to get the same downforce, so less overall drag too (which is good too).

I plan to grab a pair of PF Shadow and the new Mugen body, seems that's like the Kyosho Dome Mugen but only one seater.

Blitz makes three versions of their lola body so without knowing which version you're using is quite difficult to give you some advice.

The new Mugen body, (Rick V) runs great. I used to run the T530 but I much prefer the new Mugen one.

I guess when it comes to selecting a body you have to just try everything because everyone has different preferences.

Thanks for the advice guys. I mounted my body by drilling and cutting the marked holes, and this had placed the front lip of the body 14mm in front of the bumper. This seems further than recommended by most people, have I got it mounted too far forward?

It all depends on the track. If it is loose then it is too far forward. The body mounts can be rotated to allow the body to be moved 3mm forward or back. If they are already back and you are loose that might be a problem.

It is a very good handling body. It tqed and won the 2006 ROAR 1/8 nats, and Tqed and won the 2007 winter nats. The body has a good overall balance of traction and steering. I have tested the LW and HW and there is almost no difference if any in lap times. With the LW I use 4 stifferners on each side and with the HW use 3 on each side.

Which one Alan? the PF T530 or the Blitz one?

The PF should fall around there, if you have the body posts in forward position, 14mm is around there.

This is my body.

It sits about 14-17mm depending on where the posts are set. Seems like that should be in the ballpark. My setup sheet says 10mm for the protoform body.

My setup sheet says 5mm for the gurney flap, I assume you measure that from the top of the body up the chord length? I have mine closer to 10mm and it seems to work better........... Any advice?

One of those was the 'High downforce and steering' model. If you need to raise so much the gurney flap this means that excessive downforce is applied on the front end and you need to apply more flap to compensate this.

Raising the gurney flap adds drag. Check if things improve adjustint the body posts in the rear position and lowering the gurney flap. Things should be almost equal but with a little more speed.

Default Liner breakage on two motors in my MRX4-R ?

Hello,

I would like your opinion on this problem:

last weekend I broke two liners in half of two different engines. It looks like this

The engines where a Novarossi 35 Plus 21 and a JP FX 21 R03.

Both engines were in excellent condition.

I never had this happen to me in three years time.

The only fundamental thing I changed was that i ran the Sirio 2013 exhaust on both engines. Normally I run the Novarossi 2052 exhaust all the time.

Do you think the exhaust can cause such breakage ? Because two engines in a couple hours time is a bit far from bad luck.

Or do you know of other reasons why a liner would break in half ?

Best regards

I used the R10 liteweight body for the first time this past weekend at the Capital Classic. Very nice handling body...my choice for the rest of the season.
