If you're using the long rear a-arm, maybe is wise to change it for the intermediate and remove 1mm of shims on the rear upright. Check it out. Move 1 position the rear shocks higher (more vertical) too just to help to hook coming out tight turns.

Double check your rear droop(9mm) and make shure your sway bar links are not tweeking the chassis. When you put them on the bar there should be no load.

Hi guys, I just switched over from 1/10 touring and never had problems with making the 5min. fuel, what is the best solutions? I already done the following: Changed air filter to the boxed type, reduced ventur.insert to 8-8.5mm, running with gearing:17/49, 20/45 , tires are:66mm and 73mm rear. Checked, and rechecked on all bearing and the car rolled easily. The track is flowing with around 240ft back straight.
What is the next thing to do? Does my driving style can affect that much? barely made 4:50 - 5:05. By the way the RB/c5 engine leaned to almost 260F.
Thanks in adv.

Yes, your driving style can make a big difference in runtime. Which exhaust and manifold are you using. The pipe also makes a definited difference in making 5 mins.

FYI: Runtime issues are quite common in 1/8th scale.

Sometimes the runtime problems are caused by an improper HSN adjustment, usually the people gets overhelmed by the acceleration and top speed of 1/8 scale cars and 'detune them' enrichening the HSN and leaning the LSN (uhm... maybe this is isn't your case if you leaned up to 260F...).

You don't say which exhaust is on your car (this can make a difference), but a 8.5mm insert is quite usual on those engines (don't touch it you could end with a mess of carb adjustment). What can cause a lot of havoc and runtime problems are some manifolds (the conical ones give you more power but at the price of reducing running time).

Your gearing in some cases could be presumably quite short 17/20 is the stock combo, and on a 240Ft backstraight your track will be around 900 to 1100Ft long, you could be more confortable with a 17/21 combo on your tyre sizes (are almost ok, maybe a tad smaller for weekend practice, but ok). Maybe with a 68/75 or 69/76 (stock) you could be happy, use them and save the smaller ones for qualifiers.

You can make more runtime switching to a lesser Nitro content fuel, this will help you in getting some precious seconds of runtime.

Thinking into loud, but some can help you.

Thanks Scott and Corse-R. The pipe: Team CRC power pipe set EFRA No 9902. I guess I am going to lower my nitro content from 30% to 25%. So the next question is would the lower nitro content "mess" my engine up since it was broken in with 30% and so the sleeve and piston already "happy" working together at 30%. The engine has about 1.5 gallon through it.

a lot of guy's are using the 2018 pipe and that yeilds real good mileage. i see quite a few 2031 pipes as well. i have never tried the 2031 so i can't comment on that one.

the change from 30% to 25% will not hurt your engine. you may have to lean your engine slightly as there is less nitro (less oxygen), so less fuel is needed for a given set of conditions.

Are those Mugen's numbers for the pipe or JP's?

the 2018 is from RB and Max distrubutes it as well with their markings on it. I believe the 2031 is a JP pipe... again, I'm not sure on the 2031. I just see a lot of them in the pits.

The 2018 is listed on RB's site as a very good mileage pipe. I'm an Intermediate driver and don't have a lot of issues with runtime running the 2018 pipe. A few top driver from my club with runtime issues liked the 2018 as well as it allowed them to make mileage when other pipes did not. We are all running INS boxes and 8.5 restrictors.

it's the last pipe on the page- http://www.rbproducts.com/mainEn.php...oudes_inline21

it comes with the 1351-04 short manifold. It's rated best on their site for mileage, torque and power. I'm sure there are other somewhat better, but this set can be had for $99 dollars most anywhere.

I also use RB 2018 pipe. It's good enough for me but my friend keep on insisting me to use original novarossi pipe coz my engine is novarossi, and thus should be better off with novarossi pipe. ( I'm not sure with his idea .... I don't know is it true or false assumption ).
