Default The Groove @ Norway Motorsports Park

Our search is over! After some negotiations, Dan Louis stepped up and is making a huge investment in The Groove. It is a little over 200' long by 100'. 14,000 square foot paved pitting space. 75X25 Canopy. Electric, truing stations, air compressor, etc. This will be a true destination to race RC Cars!
More info to follow. Dan and I leave for The Cow Patty soon, but work will continue and the 2026 race season will be awesome for the Chicago area racers, and the travelers who come to race one or more of the Big events that will take place.

Great. Anything that means new tracks and can potentially attract new people to the hobby is great.

Took a ride out to The Groove with Dan and Mike P. Dan and I were on our way to the Cow patty when they laid the asphalt. We have to wait for the proper permits to start construction. Our vendors are set. This project is going to be SO satisfying!

Finally, some progress!! Building permits are secured. The covered pits were erected yesterday. Footings and the drivers stand should be done in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned my speedy friends!

Very good, Nick. I hope you are able to complete a lot of work in this semi-nice weather.

Took advantage of the nice temps to pour the piers for the Drivers Stand and the "observation deck". This was huge for us. No frost line to deal with and when the fabricator gets the Conex boxes done, they can be set. The fab company said 2-3 weeks out. Our latest timeline is ahead of schedule! Stay tuned!
Shout out to Midwestern Concrete of Sandwich IL. Very easy to work with and did a great job of site prep and shooting in the setting plates to level.

I got a few pics from the fabricator for the Drivers stand project. Good progress. I'm hoping for an early spring!

Looking forward to some fun F1 asphalt racing out there. So excited to see a ribbon track in the midwest.

A warmup race will happen the weekend before. Track will be prepped and ready on June 05. The track will remain open for racing/practice through the 14th. Lots of interest in this inaugural event. Make plans for an awesome RC vacation! Dan Louis is working on the website. Info for travel and accommodations will be posted soon.
We are also hosting the first race of the Midwest Series, May 15-17th. This is the longest running OnRoad series in the US! We are honored to be a part of RC history. Make plans to attend!
Thanks Matt Flake for the flyer!
