easy to tune, and pretty good power. not going to beat a jp or sirio, but good enough for club racer.

My dad has a modified 3 port TZ, it is dead set, effing quick!! theres just no comparison to anything else. If your going to get a TZ get a modified one, it really brings out the best in an O.S.

The first part is correct, but the second part is new to me.......
There have been conrod issues, but I replaced mine with a Palmaris conrod and now Mega has new and improved conrods:

Haven't heard of failing conrods lately...

Tuning isn't that hard as long as you keep in mind that the carb has to get to operating temps first before you do the "final tune" : start a little rich, run it a couple of laps, finetune and you are set forthe rest of the day!

I have seen a new Mega Picco conrod failing, but not a Palmaris one.

EB modded engine was already determined by a fellow racer just to be a 5-port crankshaft TZ with some extra cutting, but nothing fancy. For a good modded TZ, you should look at either the ZAC or the Murnan.

If you want to get the OS pipe also, check out the www.rc-toro.com website since they have a engine+pipe combo in under $265

But when your looking at a replacement for your pipes, should try the Skyline. I have yet to find a pipe at $59.99 that provides the power and durability of a skyline. But like any pipe, should always re-enforce the stinger with epoxy.

From what OS site said...to mate with the TZ, the best pipe set to get is the OS pipe.....however, OS pipe are NOT the cheapest thing that you can find, I think I saw those pipe running close to $100..........If Tower selling the engine/pipe combo (or Rc-Toro) for like $280...I think that is a very good deal since you only pay shipping 1 time.

Then of course...SKYLINE pipe sounds pretty good....heard a lot of good feedback........I myself use a old RD-Logic pipe......$50 with header, good for the money....

Hmmmmm...in another thread you said you "heard" that someone broke a new conrod...
Seeing is believing..I hear a lot BS every day.

I can't believe that Serpent/Mega brings out a "new and improved" conrod without testing it....

But if they did...I would be very disappointed.
If Palmaris can produce a good conrod (I am using one), why can't Serpent/Mega/Picco??
