Hi guys,

I am a newbie who is getting into the sport. I am now assembling the 989 40th anniversary and i noticed that the 2 speed gears have a lot of play. Is this normal?

If you're referring to the mesh between the pinions and spurs, just a "tick" of play is desired. Enjoy your new ride!

I totally recommend checking out Jeff Hamon’s YouTube channel - he has a video on building the 989’s Two-speed. Might be a handy reference to compare how yours turned out vs. his.

Yes i saw the videos but he doesnt finish the 2 speed assembly in order to see the play. I have play both between the gear pinions and between the second gear and the gearbox
