Default Original Losi 8IGHT compared to 8IGHT 4.0

I've been out of rc racing for a while now. I used to race the original Losi 8. Kinda want to get back into nitro again and am thinking I'd like to stick with Losi since I really liked the 8ight. So anyhow I'm just curious, How does the 8IGHT 1.0 compare to the 8IGHT 4.0? I imagine the 4.0 is really good...

Only other intros I raced were the Mugen mbx6 and Rc8. I seemed to do better with the Losi, but maybe since I was more familiar with it.

Thanks in advance : )

There have been many improvements but it is not entirely a new car as you might expect.

Here are a few of the differences that I can think of off the top of my head.

Chassis - 4.0 is longer (not sure of exact mm)

Suspension - 4.0 has 16mm shocks compared to 14mm on the 2.0. I think they are a little smoother.

Diffs - big one here is aluminum inserts for longer life. Small change is the spacer for the diff pinion gear shaft.

Radio Tray - The 4.0 Tray has the servos sitting next to each other. This transfers the weight forward. In addition to moving the servos forward, there are Bearings at pivot points for smoother throttle/brake actuation.

As stated above, lots of small changes.

Biggest difference I would think is part support! Unless 4.0 parts can intermingle like kyosho cars can. I know older gen mugen arms used different pins making it useless to try and put newer parts on older platforms.
