3 shoe vs 4 shoe?
I'm running stock clutches in my HB cars and was looking at a reds clutch but you don't see many people running a 4 shoe set up. What's the plus and minuses?

Tons of people run 4 shoe setups. Look at mugen, losi and serpent. 4 shoe clutches can be more progressive.

The reds allows you to also adjust HIGH and LOW so you can take up slack if the springs soften.

Stick with the stock HB clutch. It's really good.

I like the feel 3 shoe clutches give over 4 shoe. But 3 shoes clutches don't last very long

I run losi in my buggy and a buku in my truggy. Buku lasted a whole season on alum clutches. No bell wear what so ever. Also run thunder inovation alum shoes in losi clutch. 15 bucks from dialed rc. Cant beat it. They last.

4 pcs (+)
- Durability
- last more than 2-3 gallons++ of fuel at least per set of clutch
- Bearing and clutch bell last longer
- 2+2 provide a more balance engagement
- Even it is 50% worn, still usable.
3 pcs (-)
- Expensive to run in long term
- Doesn't last
- Clutch bell wear is high
- Not reccomended if you bash/practice/race often
- High cost

Most of these guys are on point. Imo here are no negatives of a 4 shoe clutch system. I have been running 4 shoes for the past 3 years and have never looked back since. I am running the kit 3 shoe clutch in my new agama buggy today only because I havent decided what 4 shoe system I will use on this car. I had great luck with the novarossi, red's, and losi 4 shoe clutches. I am thinking of trying the Werks this time around.

Reds said the new style 4 shoe was gonna be out in a few weeks. I'm thinking the 34mm one I wanna try

I own two REDS 4 shoe clutches. I honestly have had no issues and they perform great. If you get a vented clutch bell it should last a good long while.
