10k in the 3.0 made a world of difference. Even with the the overdrive ring and pinion. This was on a slicker track.

Really looking forward to the 4.0

Finally getting closer to season start, it`s been a long winter.
I haven`t driven the car yet but have a couple off questions that might save me some time.

-will the cvd boots free up enough?
-Can i use the 4.0 without or do i need to use the 3.0 drive shafts.

Thanks

Just start by removing the boots. Leave the aluminum retainer ring on the axle and reinstall. The new axles allow better and more travel over the previous axle.

Very interesting as they are they same part numbers since like the 2.0 - LOSA3534 only shaft thats new is the front/center driveshaft..

I have about a half gallon on my 4.0 chassis and they have freed up a bit. I have no issues with it. And I love the boots..

They are made with a bigger opening at the cvd joint where it tapers wider at the opening.

Well my newly converted 3.5(lol)will get it's first run this weekend.I havnt changed every aspect of my buggy to a 4.0.I really don't want change the suspension that much, just the chassis layout and the radio tray improvements.hoping the car drives the same with better forward bite.

can't find that part number anywhere. It was my understanding the outer piece(TLR24017) was only different to accommodate the boots.
