Comparing 16mm shock spring to Agama 17mm shock springs. What difference does this make to the spring rate of Agama springs vs. others? Do we need higher spring rate on the gauge or checker to offset the larger diameter spring? I am asking because as I check my springs, they are on the stiffer side compared to say a Kyosho blue...etc.

Any thoughts?

Not looking to purchase more springs from other manufacturers, just curious that I am finding Agama springs slightly higher on the #/inch rating than others. And wondering if that is due to larger diameter of spring (not actual coil thickness). Car runs fins, but I am just curious. Thanks

Wider springs diameter should show more flex in the spring rates unless the steal is harder and to see the number of coils used

Hi Rob,

The geometry of the 215's appears to work well with a slightly higher spring rate hence our springs having an inherently higher spring rate compared to others.

This comes from the reduced number of coils on our springs and the heat treatment process that takes place at the factory.

What happens, when I change it from the inside to the outside?

Thanks in advance!

Looks like you just gain a wider wheel base

They are meant only to change from one corresponding one to the other meaning inner hole on arm with inner on hub or outer and outer. It doesn't change width at all. This change changes the arm length.

Outside hole would be a long arm. IMO Long arm is typically easier to drive and favors in the rough while short arms can be more reactive and favors the smoother tracks. Overall grip however may be better with the short arm.

Thanks for the replies. Build the SV with the outer arm hole. (in the manual it suggests inside). Will see what the results are.
