So i picked up a parts lot for my xb8. Its come with a set of crown wheels @ 40t. Just wondering what the advantage would be to run the 40t instead of the 46t.

My track is a small/medium 8th scale track. Lots of sharp turns and medium sized jumps. It grooves up but is a bit loose.

Cheers.

is it 20 - 30%

Which means I can now order an Upgrade RC wrap for my Xray Xb8 best wraps in the industry.

Hopefully you didn't think I was ignoring your post and I do appreciate the information about the RC8 body.

I did find out that you can use the D817 predator with some modifications, not a direct fit.

Did another rebuild on my XB8, can't help but take pics of it every time I tear it down and clean it up/replace things. They are just damn good looking buggies.

the 40t diff crown gear should be used in conjunction with the 12t diff pinion.
both these combined are the underdrive option for the rear (rear only i emphasize). they will slow down the rear wheels rotation when compared with the front. this means the car will pull more from the front and is tended to be used in loose conditions.
