Default Best motors for under $100???

Not that I need any new motors but I am curious what members think is the best motor for under $100? I know you don't get much for this price but its still interesting. The two major factors in this debate is durability and cost. Any added performance would simply be a bonus.

The motor should fall in the .12-.18 range.

I am looking for something for my old school RC10GT but I want to keep it old school. Probably another OS CV.

Wrong section... And any nitro engine under $100 would basically be an overpriced grenade.

I figured this was the better section since it is not a direct tech question just a question of opinion.

Have you actually looked at motors priced under $100? Ofna, Jammin, Picco, STS, Traxxas, and several others.

I bought a brand new Picco for $40 shipped.

amain has a Picco .12 for 99.99. Only other options would be OS CVs or find a deal on an older model on ebay or something.

HPI nitro star .18
AE .18

So what if we opened the range up to include used motors that you should be able to purchase and get pinched or new motors under $150? I know you cn get the CV-R for under $150. I have a .12 and its nice motor but the damn thing is hard to control in a RC10GT.

Not looking to be competitive just whip around and play with. I'd rather have something that offers decent performance but will last over something that has great peformance but will most likely take a shit on me.

I would like to find an old school OS CV hyper for my RC10GT nostalgic project.

Well for a vintage project, if you can find an OS CZ 12z, that's about the best engine ever made for an RC10GT.

Or this if you don't mind spending the money:

Or an old Mugen MT 12 for a rear exhaust option.

MT12 was ungodly powerful for a 2wd ST. I had an OS 12TR in a Mugen MST1. Nothin touched it down the straights.

Yes but it could be handled with skillful driving. I believe a ROAR Nats was won with one.
