rear a arm
I have broken several a-arms on my NT48. They split open at the hinge pin right along the mold parting line. The pin will literally pull out through the plastic. To the credit of Tekno, the pin is never bent, which is amazing. Is this happening to others?

I caught the rear tire on a solid object at a pretty good speed and the hinge pin and a plastic link end broke. As you can see, the plastic gave a bit where the pin wanted to pull out, but it was the pin that gave, not the suspension arm in my case. I've had some pretty spectacular crashes in my ET48 and have only broken parts when hitting solid objects, so I've found Tekno's parts to be pretty durable. Now if I could just do something about those trees along my track... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/M4...8=w600-h356-no |

Engine recomenndation
Hey guys, I need to ask for a an engine recommendation for this truggy?
I run an ET-48 and I'm looking to get into the nitro side, but I'm a total newb when it comes to nitro  I'm just out to have fun with a bit of casual racing, nothing competitive, and I do need to control costs where I can. I searched the forum and see that the Triton L5 has been recommended for the NT48 in the past, but its a bit spendy for me. Steve at Nitro Reviews (YouTube) recommended the Novarossi S21P5XLT, $189 on Amain. https://www.amainhobbies.com/novaros...1p5xlt/p149456 Tower has the Werks Racing Team Line .21 B6 on sale right now for about $200, much cheaper after coupons. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LW4188&P=1 What doe you guys think of these Novarossi/Werks Racing engines for the NT48? Thanks a ton for any recomendations! |
REDS R5T if you have the cash or R5R if you want to save a bit. They both have huge amounts of power and in my opinion one of the most stable tunes on the market.

Thanks a ton for any recomendations! but I don't think you can beat the price on the nova elite 5. You can get nova elite 5 with header and pipe combo for around $200 from novarossi direct. I'd say get the elite 5 with 9853/41001 dont forget to apply that 10% discount |
Thanks a ton for those recommendations!!
Just priced out that the elite 5 combo (9853/41001), came to something like $187 before coupon/tax/ship, so pretty darn reasonable, I think that's the way I'll go! |

41005/9853 combo is AWESOME! Tried this combo for the first time last night at practice and this combo in my NT48 absolutely rips!
PS: This is Steven from Nitro Reviews :D Being new to nitro it's nice to know that setup well work well on the NT48 and I'm happy with how reasonable it is...much cheaper than a quality electric ESC-motor combo, but of course now I have to buy nitro fuel, an extra servo and a receiver pack with that $$ I'll save on ESC/lipos  |
