What's the most reliable 1/8 buggy?
Hello,
I would like to know what is currently the most improved and reliable buggy. I'm not speaking about any other factor, it doesn't need to be especially innovative or beautiful or well conceived or just released etc.. I'm just speaking about a good wear of plastic, strong quality parts. To sum it up: the buggy you would trust enough for an endurance race for example.

This thread is going to be an Xray/Mugen sweep. The other cars have thier nice points, but if your talking pure reliability.....

Zcar
Zcar Z10XB
Raced and won a 3 hour enduro with the Z10XB. never broke a part. the track had 2 wooden ramp jumps just like they use at PNB. jumped them everytime, most other where checking up and only doing them as doubles not triples. in the second pic you can see how high i was flying her. still makes me laugh seeing the turn marshal looking up at it.
the next day i ran the exact same car in a club race at the same track. Did not change a thing in the car (except exhaust gaskets, clutch and clutch bearings). finally broke her in the middle of the Amain and was not even really a part, it was a bolt.
I have a Zcar Truggy, that if i run it this year at PNB it will be its third year. now i have updated it and done regular maint. The only part on the truggy to the best i can remember that i broke was a front arm in almost 3 years

MUGEN! Parts quality is second to none. They handle very well on every condition(Blue groove,Loomey,Blown out and rough is where they really excell over other buggies). You can pick up a 6r from amain right now for $399 and if you use the $25 offf code your at $374 plus shipping. That's a steal.

A Dark Horse in this reliability race is the Agama A8. I can vouch personally since it's my personal buggy. Its tough as crap. We have a few guys that run them at the track and I have never one retire because something on it broke. Not once. Its well balanced, very lightweight, handles and jumps well, plus has great acceleration coming out of corners. Thats the only one I can really vouch for.
Dont the mugens have A-arm issues? I thought id read several people having them break, or has that been fixed? anyways. my .02

You have to go out of your way to find a buggy that isn't reliable, all your top brands are very good kits.. My MP9 TKI2 is Fantastic!! ran hard over summer and never broke anything the car is Dialed !!

I would say Mugens MBX line up are damn tough, I now drive kyosho and I will say it is not as beefy feeling as the MBX6 but the MP9 is way more suited to my driving style. With that being said and this comes from my Off-Road racing Background is the prep job on the car. Me and my friend have burned a ton a fuel in a day and not had issues, while others seem to be fixing things in the pits all day long (not setup changes). Both my Kyoshos I now own I bought used and i put in a total of 10 or more hours in each, checking, shimming, cleaning, and setting up. I think that is key, each car is different and requires more work in other areas. Just my two cents.
