If you have the funds both are good to have as an option. Nitro is my favorite, but sometimes it is nice to just charge up batteries and go run some electric. The best part about electric is no pit guy needed, fast, and fun to drive.

Electric is clean, simple, easy, low maintenance and probably cheaper.

But there is something about NITRO!!!!!

Nitro all the way. When electric runs it's like the program is on intermission.

Electric is better for weekly club races with low turnouts and short mains. Especially when you're at a less than friendly track where noone gets a kick out of pitting for you. But if nitro is popular at your club races then run nitro.

For big events Nitro rules. Longer mains. And lighter nitro cars are alot nicer to jump.

I don't see how anyone could run nitro competitively and not also run electric anymore. Unless you run 200+ laps a week in my area, you ain't competitive. A simpler electric car helps a ton to get that practice time in.

I run electric at club races and practice. I save my Nitro XB9 for bigger events and tracks.

Love the mechanics of tuning an engine and gotta love the smell.

i love the instant torque from a brushless motor too much to ever go back to nitro.. not to mention longer runtimes/no tuning if you live in an area where the temperature varies alot stay away from nitro

I'd love to have both, but I already run a Nitro Truggy, and the Scte. So this is my 3rd class. I have my 15 year old to help pit well unless he gets one too. I had an e buggy but I'm selling it to switch brands. I really liked it but the nitro does seem to be more popular. Well i say that but at our last reace there where 8 cars. I wasn't sure never drove nitro ether.

If I had to choose just one...NITRO something about the smoke, smell, performance, sound it just wraps it all up into one sensory overload! I do have the conversion kit to electric for the winter. Its nice to charge and run and I plan to get another buggy to have electric for the summer months to run too if the turn out is good for both classes. But like I said if only one chice can be made it nitro for me.
