Racers: how do you prepare your buggy for bad weather (rain, mud, ...)?

Since we're racing on astroturf and this is Belgium, I race a lot when it's raining.
Luckily there's no mud on our tracks, so I just spray some wd40 on my axles to prevent them from rusting.

Tires!
Hiya Folks,
I come from Asia where rain is typical. Mostly, as long as it's not crazily chucking down, the race goes on.
I noticed some of my friends who come prepared with home made skinny tires (cut down rims and glued tires together).
The reason for it is that the skinny tires cuts through the mud and prevents mud from stinking to the insides or the rims and on the tire surface (caking). Thus preventing engine over stressing.
It also makes the car lighter as there is less mud splashing unto the chassis and body.
I found a ready made replacement (instead of elbow greasing):
Grp jolly narrow tires
