Probably a bad diff case.

Default XB9 "Bob Sr."

I have about 1 gallon of racing on Bob Sr. thus far. 1.3 x 8 xray pistons (Kyo Blues) have worked very well for me. I recently tried the xray 1.3 x 6 pistons and was pleasantly surprised on how well the car felt. Seemed like the pack of the shock was more consistent and it allowed me to run a lighter oil thus, allowing me to drive the car harder. No breakage yet on big, high speed, usa, style track, big jumps (Fear Farm, AZ). The car is great! I have a few questions for those that may have tried more combinations on set up.

Diff Oils
I'm currenty running 5k 5k 3k. Works great. I'm thinkning about bumping up the center diff to 7lk Have any of you ran 5k 7k 2or3k? What difference did you feel?

Exhaust Cooler
Can anyone recomend an exhaust cooler that works well with the XB9 fuel tank?

Thanks guys,
Brian M.

They aren't over filled.. Light seepage when they just sit. I lost probably a third of the fluid in 6 tanks.

I think you're right. I should have a complete spare diff and an extra case tomorrow. Tractor arrived for the track change today!

My buggy is almost completed. I will probably be running it on Sat night at Indy to do a shake down / some setup work.

Your xb9? I'm so proud of you! I'm just waiting on a new chassis and my car will be super fresh!

Oh don't you worry. I will still have my RC8.2 completely together.

Side note: the engine mount is complete garbage on this car.

Hey Brian, I run 5/7/3 and couldn't be happier. You'd probably get a bit more rotation with 2k in the rear (though with the XB9 you probably won't need it) but with 3k the rear end will be a little more locked in on power out of the turns...
We run the novarossi gas coolers and use the 808 gas cooler mount on the side of the tank. It's a perfect fit.

Andy

7k center oil. More equal drive from all 4 wheels, more positive drive coming out of turns, less unloading of the front wheels. Can be harder to drive on very loose or bumpy tracks. I prefer 7k. I find to light in the center makes the buggy kind of
squirrely.

What's up Brian. Are you racing KBRL this weekend? We're heading down tonight for some club racing than KBRL tomorrow.

About the center diff. I've been running 7K for a while, the 7K in the XB9 feels like 5K in my old 2011 xb808. I think because of the different gearbox ratios. At FF the 7K works better IMO for the quick run-ups and the double triple section. I didn't notice much difference with the car handling in the rough.

Yes 6x1.3s is the ticket at FF. I also run novarossi cooler

5/7/3
7/5/3 Dusty track
10/7/5 Electric conversion

Try 8/6/5 sometime.

You're doing better than I am. Everything is still in pieces as I wait for arm reamers.
