Did the guy that had it before sell it to you because he didn't like the way it drove and handled? If so we know why now.

I have a pretty good rule that I abide by:

If I don't have time to clean and rebuild my car, I don't have time to drive it.

Looking at getting a set back engine mount. What's the consensus on the extra stiffner on the king heads mount? Needed not needed? Can the extra screw be removed to get chassis flex back? Is there any other set back mounts on the market?

I like the king headz extended engine mount, it removes flex where it is not needed or wanted.

Thanks, Just ordered up the king headz extended mount and I'm also going to try out the buku front bearing cap next weekend. I love to mod and tinker to make my car/engine run better, faster, and more dependable but some how my paypal balance doesn't like it.

Hey guys looking to upgrade my RC8RS to big bores. Correct me if I'm wrong. I need 8.2 arms, towers, and 16x29 and 16x38 shocks. Am I missing anything? Are the axles and links and everything the same? Thank guys.

Not so simple... Your measurements are right for the RC8B Big Bores, but the RC8.2 shocks are shorter(and a lot of other things are different too.. The shocks are identical afaik - just with a shorter shaft).

Just get the RC8B shocks and leave everything else alone.

Ok Im really confused now. So I just need RC8B big bore shocks (16x29, 16x38) RC8B towers and nothing else? Does anyone have a part number on those? Are the RC8B shocks and the RC8.2 shocks the same, because when I am looking on AE's website I can't find any difference in part numbers. If this is correct, are my arms the same as the RC8B? I have gotten a hundred different answers from a hundred different people. Starting to be not worth it anymore. So from the information I have gathered, to convert my RC8RS to big bore I need RC8B towers, my stock arms, and any 16x29 and 16x38 shocks from either and 8B, 8.2, or 8.2e, correct?

8B, 8.2 shock bodies are the same but the 8.2 uses shorter shafts.

Ahhh...makes sense now. So if I pick up used 8.2 shocks, can I just swap out the shafts with the 8B shafts? And then I need the 8B towers too right? Its starting to make sense now, hopefully. haha.

RC8B manual

Rc8.2 manual

use those 2 manuals to cross reference parts numbers from the exploded views

Just so you know the rc8b upgrade towers are taller than the 8.2 towers. You need the .2 towers or your springs will be maxed out on preload just to get regular ride height.

So i just built this rc8.2 and now im really bummed.

Im running a KH extended engine mount and a werks pro clutch. Thr flywheel is like .25mm from rubbing the rear brake pad. As soon as this chassis flexes I know it is going to hit it.

Now what? If I run the stock ae mount will the engine sit back a hair and solve the issue?
