Tapered shock pistons?
Which side should be up on the tapered shock pistons. The flat or conical part?
What is the impact on absorbing properties of which way you put the pistons?

yes- from what I have read. I've never heard of anyone putting taper up. But if the holes are straight instead of at an angle,well who knows.

Do you have any tips on where I can read about this?
My holes drilled straight. Not such as Kyosho turbo flow pistons.

on smooth (indoor smooth) flat can be down and works very well, if the track is the least bit rough the flat should be up IMHO... however, i would try them both ways and see what YOU like. ive heard of people running front opposite from rear also, it just depends on what you want... i think i ran tapper in rear and reg flat ones in front before or maybe the other way.

My pistons have a flat side and a tapered side, but the holes are straight, I do not think "x-ray" theory works for my pistons.
Someone else with a theory?

Theoretically then the flat side up to give more pack even if the holes are straight?

The x-ray page posted above is exactly how the conical pistons work. They are more for bumpy tracks. I doubt they offer much of a performance enhancement on flat smooth euro style tracks. I run them in my buggies and I haven't tried them in the truggy yet but I have them and they are on the list to test in the truggy. The taper makes the shock more progressive, if you put it down then it's progressive on compression, if you put it up then it's progressive on rebound. Most run them conical side down.
