Holes in the body
I've never had to make any extra holes in any of my bodies and i've had about 4-5 now.
What type of linkage set-up you running?
Do you ahve the adjustable bias for the brakes?
I had some extra length on my rod (sounds like i'm bragging ) for the throttle so i cut it off instead of cutting the body.

Body Shells
How low do you guys mount your Pipes?
I mount mine solid agains the plastic guard to make it lower cg.
I also put a piece of fine wire inside fuel tubing and tie it around the pipe so it doesn't fully bottom out on the guard.
It also stops the body from melting from the heat if it sits on the end of the pipe.
I got this trick from my CRT so the body doesn't melt on the pipe and i've since done it on my buggy.

I had to do the fuel tubing trick to my PL body as well. I really didn't have any problems except for where the header bends around. It melted the body pretty good right there. I ran some tubing around the header and it fixed that.
On another note, I ran my first club race yesterday with my FTE car since trying the 8ight for six months. The 8ight is a great car in the right hands, but I could only get it right just a handful of times in that time period. So, it was time to switch back to the Jammin' car I had before the 8ight.
I put the new servo saver and the aluminum center diff mount on the car. I was skeptical on the center diff mount and it's price, but I was very impressed after I put it on the car. The brakes will only engage in one direction, that means there is no chance of them engaging at all when it's full throttle. Not only that, but it only takes 3mm of movement by the brake cams to fully engage the brakes. That means very little stress on the throttle/brake servo. The new servo saver gives the car mad steering, I actually had to turn down the EPA.
I couldn't of been happier with the car, for the first time in a long time I was comfortable with a RC Car and do with it what I wanted. I just need to get some of my driving habits I've gotten from 8ight and I'll be good to go

I hear the new servo saver makes the steering more consistent and prevents you from breaking your ackerman bearings. With the old one it actually raises the ackermen when the servo saver spring is on the bottom and puts stress on the flanged bearings. The new one doesnt put that stress on it.
