Default Cleaning shocks with brakecleaner?

Is it safe to clean your shockshafts and shockbodies with brakecleaner? Won't it hurt the coat on it? (I don't know if mbx6 shocks are coated tho)

I'm going to rebuild them tonight but I don't know if it's safe to use brakecleaner.

We don't have simple green. I can clean the shafts with a towel, but I'd like to degrease the shockbody's. It's hard to get all the oil out at the bottom.

I use brake cleaner inside and on the shafts. Just make sure you buy the Non chlorinated kind. It's not corrosive.

oh, with the simple green i spray inside the shock body 2 times than get a paper towl and twist it around inside of the shock body to get the oil out.

it seems to get all the oil gone.

Brake cleaner is safe for everything shock related except the orings, just take the orings out and spray away.

Your favorite lubricant and an air compressor work well.
