Well ive just finished building my Hyperstar for Review in Radio Race car over here in the UK. We have a slightly differnt spec to the rest of you guys but plan to get out on the track this weekend for some testing and compare it to my Serpent 811.

be careful with the pbs conversions, i read somewhere that the HyperStars hubs have been updated in the car kit for added strength..

well i havent been able to work out how the PSM throttle linkage goes with out having lots of play in it so have stuck with the angled option. The uk spec also has a normal style rear wing rather than the one piece molded one and also does not have the 6 geared diff in front and centre, theyve stuck with the older 4. Im looking forward to getting out on the track with it as its been a while.

Default PBS Hubs versions

The hubs in the Ebay kit seems to be the new design :

Old design (captured steering rod) :

New design :

I suppose that is what the kits are now delivered with too.

Well finally get to a computer and can report the HyperStar is very nice. the springs were a little firm for my liking but otherwise has great steering and loads of grip i Plan to fit the LRP engine this weekend and start getting it run in ready for next weekend's racing. So only planned changes are softer springs. All in all very happy with it, its tough to call it between my serpent 811 and the hyperstar as the serpent has been set up how i like it so will have to tweek the hyperstar a bit first

Try Losi 32.5 all the way around, Silver X-Ray Springs all the way around and drill out the rear shocks to 1.6mm....

Mine shocks are dialed now when run like this...
