The driver's stands are like 9 feet in the air and you need a 6" step stool? If you're over 5 feet tall, you don't need one of these. Almost every driver seems to have one these days, it's getting absurd. Ok, gripe session over.

Haha, I know. I'm thinking of bringing a 6ft ladder w/ me next time as a joke. Maybe they need to start staggering the driver's stand like a podium - TQ gets the tallest spot, 2nd the next tallest, etc. But those step stools irk me haha.

these are a public liability law suit waiting to happen

the hand rail is there for a reason. its also at that height for a reason
to stop people falling over
standing on one of these just makes it all the easier for you to fall over the edge

And, then sue the owner for not putting a sign on the rail saying "Caution, 9ft drop off. This rail is for you safety." hahaha

Marcus,

I'll agree with you if it was a milk crate. LOL.

I have used the item in question at different times at different tracks. Not all stands are high enough and it does help to see over the racer that always seems to lean out from the stand when your car is at the worst part of the track to see (could be trying to come into pit lane). I do agree that those little stands are becoming more the norm on the driver's stand. Not sure why, but I guess everyone has their reasons for having one. Funny thing is that many times I have had mine with me at the track and forgot to take it to the stand with me.

my disclaimer is that I dont race... but I do run at a few tracks from time to time... for me the stool isnt so much to be able to see... but to have the controller above the rail as I hold it... I hold mine at about center of my belly... which tends to be right about where the railing is height wise... this gets it to the point where its just slightly above and I dont run the risk of banging it...

get your own and everything is even. love coming down the straight away and your car dissapears behind a dx3r, then you stick out your head and the guy next to you is like "dude, put your head back".

repeat: every lap.
