one more tire question

I think it's important primarily to three things:
Tire wear.
High speed stability.
Stability in the air/when jumping.
I always balance my tires now.

It is always better to balance tires. It helps to reduce vibration and this means less stress on suspension, steering components and bearings.

BUT 1 thing a lot of guys forget is, Run the tires for a quali or practice session, THEN balance. New tires need time for the foams to "seat" and balancing a Brand new set of tires out of the package can lead to incorrect placement of the putty/tape.

Good point ...You're right, it is a good idea to run them unbalanced and then balance them once the foam is seated...

When properly balanced, you can spin the wheel and it will stop at a different point each time (i.e. no "heavy" spot).
