Too many holes in your tire/wheels?
I have raced 1/10 for years and my wheels have always come with holes for the tire to breath. I also but two holes in the center of the tread on the tire to help let dirt escape. I just started in 1/8th scale and the AKA and ProLine wheels I have do not have pre-drilled holes. Should I drill the wheels out as well as the tires, or will putting two holes in the tire be enough? Any noticable difference between the two choices?

I personally just put holes in the tires. I think the holes in the wheels will let too much dirt in. Most everyone that I race with just puts holes in the tire only.

There was another thread about this not long ago. Just put 2 holes in the tires, none in the wheels. If the wheels come with holes, cove them from the inside w/ a piece of tape or a decal u don't plan on using. -f they are already glued up, used a dab of shoe goo to plug any holes in the wheels.

Would hot glue work to plug holes in the rims?

I have never tried hot glue. If you have holes in the rim and the tire in not mounted yet a simple piece of tape will work. If the tire is already mounted you can still get away with tape just clean it good before you tape it. And check it after every run. Also a scrap piece off a decal will work instead of tape.

Ducting tape is what use when i come across holey rims.
Thin, Sticky and does the job.

I may have to give that a try, I used my soldering iron with the point tip to put holes in the tires that i have mounted so I'll try that over the hot glue I already have on the holes...

hi guys does that work for the truggy wheels as well

I have put tape on the inside of wheels that have hole in them. Use to put on outside but tape kept coming off.....

Thanks for the info guys. I was hoping I wouldn't have to put holes in the wheels.

Yes, if the wheels have holes tape inside and out side and punch 4 holes in each tire.
GRP did right with their stuff, no holes in wheels and and holes in tires....Good to go!
We have some left in stock, buggy and truggy.

4 holes if good but 2 180 degrees apart works fine too.
