Aka are very good their pre-mounts are very close to balance but I hate balancing tires the worst was the proline LRP series OMG their foams were very inconsistent good move not available anymore. Calibers pre-mounts fall below AKas but mounting shoes are a norm.

Except that old glue will get you into more trouble than it is worth. I only use fresh glue to do my tires. Fresh as in it has to have been opened that week, or preferably the same day. Then it gets tossed. Tires are too expensive to cheap out and use old glue on.

With the AKA's premounts are usually about the same price as unmounted tires and wheels. Plus to me it is more a matter of what my time is worth. I go through a lot of tires and I don't take the time to mount them if I don't have to. Unfortunately I would never run a proline premount, so I still have to mount about half of my tires. Yet another reason why I love running AKA's.

I mount my own mostly but sometimes premounts if i have too.
