Default idle screw and lsn

Does these two work together and how would I adjust them to get a good idle I have a new motor and I had to open the carb up a lil bit to get it to run now that it is about to be tunned how would I bring the needles down to accomplish this and would I need to richen the hsn or lean the hsn

as you lean the lsn then your idle will go up needing to close the carb a bit riching up the lsn lowers the idle and will need to open the carb to keep it running so when ya hit the sweet spot any adjustments will be on both needles lsn in idle screw out and vise versa

Thanks that is what I have been doing but was questioning what I was doing so I stopped before I created a costly mistake
