He used the RC Monster battery tray because the Agama tray did not fit the R4 chassis.

My new kits came in the mail today! Running the A8 and the RC-Monster converted A8e for the 2012 season.

I'm really impressed with the build quality so far. Hopefully I'll have the electric buggy ready for a practice run at The Warehouse this Saturday. One buggy almost down, and another waiting to be built and broken in.

Ready to go!

You suck hunter!
Alan got my buggy in, but no e conversion. Hopefully it will be in in a day or 2.

What kind of setup are you going to start with.

Also, who's going to open the track Saturday? Alan is off to another race this weekend.

I built the 1st dif last night & it has a little more play in it than I would like. What size shims should I get for the out drives? What other shims can I expect to need for the rest of the car? I'll be stopping by my lhs after work to pick them up.

TIA

Bill, play on the ring/pinion gear? play where? Maybe when you push and pull the outdrives? That's normal don't shim it tight. I'll be glad to look at it. Make sure to text me if you have questions.

I shim the outdrives with 0013 shims. 3 on the center diff outdrives usually.
I also add an extra 0014 to both the front and rear diff to get rid of side to side play in the ring & pinion. But each diff is slightly different, so shim as needed.

I didnt get started till late last night, so I only built 1 dif (no oil yet, just test fitting). The outdrives seem to have too much play to me. Push on them & they are absolutely to tight. Pull on them & they seem about right (light, but no discernable extra lash).

Alan, if you are going to be at the track I would love to swing by & let you take a look @ them!

Remove a 0013 shim and put it on the outside of the diff outdrive.
