Nice write up bro, very informative. As far as the shock caps go they are a little rough but they work. I put a dab of Blue threadlock to keep em closed. I am a little disappointed as well that after almost 2 years they have not changed the fuel tubing in the tank but it is an easy fix. They did put a larger O -ring inside the fuel tank lid so the tank is all good now once you swap out the tubing. The first generation of kits had useless fuel tanks and we all had to use other brands.

BTW, this thread is great..I've read a lot of it and it's not chocked full of 14 year old boys that argue about everything and re-hash info they read on some other thread and spew it out like first hand information LOL. I left RC Tech some time ago for that reason, and I'm pleasantly surprised at what I'm seeing here. That's a testament to the personality and demographic that this car is attracting, and that's a good thing!
Welcome to agama nation. I think your write up was great and I agree with where you are coming from and the agama is a great car.

This car has always been a solid platform, great handling, great price, and great durability out of the box. I have owned 3 A8's and have always been very satisfied with there performance.

Great review.

The Agama A8 has had a street price of $449.99 for the last year and a half. The "New Car" excitment has worn off, so when sales slow down, the price comes down. But the $399.99 is a limited time offer. Also, since the Losi 8 2.0 kit is only $399.99 right now, we felt we had to match their sale price. We expect big things in 2012 now with Branham and Kortz leading the Team!

The fuel line is the #1 draw back on the kit, but a cheap fix (not easy lol). Occationally you get a faulty metal part because the quality control is around 99%, not 100%. The car is super easy to put together but the manualy is not the best.

I agree the website info is not the best. Agama is more interested in producing a quality product then spending time and money on marketing. Maybe someone from Agama Nation would like to build a nice AgamaUSA website?

Stallen, give this one a shot.

On the rear droop instead of 142mm it needs to be 132.

So what is the 'cheap-but-not-easy' fix to the fuel tank? I just used thicker fuel tubing in mine but i imagine a nice double sided fitting. Never had a problem with mine but i can see where it might slip where it goes into the tank.

losi makes a fitting for their tank that works with the agama tank. It is a two sided fitting, so you can replace the fuel line outside the tank or inside the tank seperately.

Happy new year everybody.

my son is all ready for a good year running more 1/8 buggy racing, we are part of the Arrow team Australia and just ran one of the GTR.21 engines in and were very happy with the way it goes, now to do the 2nd one.

we must be one of the lucky ones, our fuel tanks works fine, it is one of the first run kits, mite look at using that losi tank fitting, would be better in the long run I think.

Regards
