How to make the 2wd Nitro stadium truck class popular again
Next year (2010) I have three classes I can race in
1/10 nitro truck class
Novice class
Modified class
But how popular is the modified class? How many people usually sign up for the novice class?

It all depends on your track. Where I race, we have 1 person with a 1/10 nitro stadium truck and sometimes get 1 or 2 electrics show up. I never see more than 3 stadium trucks on any given race day. Your track my have a full class though. It's different everywhere. I would say to stop by on a race day and see what classes are running and how many people are in each. For your first few races, I'd suggest running the novice class. Run that until your lap times improve and you are turning clean laps without contantly wrecking. Then look into moving to modified or nitro stadium truck. Those 2 classes will be a lot faster and more competative than novice. I personally wish the stadium truck class would come back strong. I enjoy running them and would get another one quickly. I can't understand why the SC trucks have taken over, they handle like crap and can't jump. I don't see why anyone would want a SC over a stadium truck.

I really dont know why gas truck died out. I really liked it. Most of the really fast 1/8 buggy guys got fast by running gas truck and learning throttle control. I agree with above, Im not sure why the slash and sc10's are popular. I would run a t4 or a xxxt any day over them

I'm sure electric 1/10 2wd buggy and stadium trucks will be more popular in 2010. I'm not sure for the 1/10 nitro trucks but I still have my GT2 here waiting for more action...

yea maybe on 1/10 style tracks but ,most offroad tracks are 1/8 tracks.
the only 2wd class that can run on a 1/8 tracks are short course trucks, espially the slash.

Unfortunately gas truck may be gone forever. I loved it as it was my first nitro vehicle and was very challenging. Not just anyone can pick up a gas truck and go fast. A 1/8 scale truck or buggy is simple for anyone to purchase ,drive it a few tanks and be competitive. I finally sold my Gt about a year ago.

If tracks push 1/12 pan cars, they will come.
Get the point?
Nobody is going to run a 10th scale gas truck on a 200X200 1/8 track with 50 foot jumps, so the track owner has the biggest part in that.

Gas truck is alive and well in Minnesota, in our Mn Nitro series (www.mnnitroseries.com) We get over 20 of them at each of our 7 series races over the summer. Looking at the points over 40 different drivers raced the class over the summer!

I was kind of hoping the poor economy would bring some people back to gas truck. I personally cannot afford to race 1/8 scale vehicles, gas or electric. Gas truck lets me get my nitro fix while still being somewhat affordable. I also have a T4 and an SC10 and I love to race all three.
If you are looking at racing at Pitstop next year, keep an eye on the Pitstop thread. Next year they may run on Friday nights again, and you won't be able to run nitro (local noise ordinance). If that's the case you may want to buy a Slash, that was the biggest class last year, and is by far the cheapest to run. If they decide to do Saturdays, I'll always have my gas truck along in case enough of 'em show up.
Hobbytown in Reading also has a gas truck class. There are about 3 or 4 guys that ran every race last year.

hobby hut just started a short corse class, i was there the last race of the. season and there was 8 of them, running there fun on that track and handle the ruts good. and i heard that there gone to be a 1/16 revo slash class i just, got one of them and they are fun.
