BUGGY VS. TRUGGY
#17
I got a truggy near the end of the season having never driven a truggy, only buggy.
I will say that it is WAY easier to put the truggy where you want it lap after lap. They're so much more consistent, so much easier to drive. I would definitely say that they can be faster than buggy. They're not much heavier now, they have a bigger contact patch for better traction, wider stance for stability. Definitely fun to drive. I am excited to run buggy and truggy next summer.
I can't speak for the Caster. All I can say is that it looks like the older style of truggy. I would go with the newer designs, the Losi 8T 2.0 or the Mugen Seiki MBX6T.

Buggy vs. Truggy:
I've driven both and I can tell you even though a truggy is big, they are no slouches. They don't get unsettled so easily, and feel much more planted around the track than a buggy. You can get on the gas much harder without unsettling the rear end.
The buggy is much more nimble. It's really a drivers car. Throttle and steering control is essential to driving a buggy.
Check the results out for yourself truggies are actually faster than buggies even on a small tight track. Ryan Cal. did a 97 lap run in truggy and 96 lap run in buggy.
