Clutch Bearings ???
Hello,
I am kinda new to buggy's and just found this forum and thought it would be a good place to ask.
I have a Mugen MBX5 with a VZB in it. I would like to know what you guys have found to be the best clutch bearings to use that last the longest between service??
Also, what are the most comon were items that I should keep on hand for spare parts? I only have the one buggy so I would like it not to be down for long time (:
Thanks, and a great forum to!
Kevin.

I would recommend Avid bearings they are only a dollar each for any size and they last as long as anything else.
As for parts I would recommend at the least keeping an extra set of all your arms.

Personally I like the Losi HD bearings. I pull them and clean them and they have lasted at least a gallon before I think about changing them.

Hey man if your bashing just buy the packs of cheap ones and run em till they get gritty. If your racing just buy the packs of cheap ones an replace after a full race day.If your running carbon shoes your bearings will last much longer. If your running aluminum shoes they will not last as long.A busted clutch bearing will mess up your race day and its not worth it to try and get much more than a day or two out of racing out of clutch bearings. You have a mbx5 with 5x10 bearings wich will not last that long regardless of the make.DONT waste your money on high $ clutch bearings its not worth it.

the best ones that i ran that are cheap are the tko grated i do race though not a basher, i do run carbon and alum dont know how they would hold up running all alum but if u have enough play shouldnt a alum setup last longer than a full race day,u have a mugen truggy come out and race that thing

oh duh he has a buggy not the truggy,

Aluminum shoes run much hotter. All that heat in the clutch bell melts and burns off the grease/oil out of the bearings much faster than with carbon shoes. But in a truggy i would prefer to run alum because they grab harder.

oh ok how does the alum/carb run on a truggy ,the thing is with the 2 alum/carbon ,for the carbon to last u have not have it at a stiff spring setup cause they wont last. my is a gold/green setup on my losi clutch and its smooth with still haveing plently of punch. so most buggy guys dont do all alum shoes

1 on the tko bearings why do they say have the blue sheid facing the front and the black seal inside,i been running the black seal facing the front and its fine is there a better proformance if u have the blue side faceing the front

I have no idea why they are inserted a certian way, maybe seal integrity or offset balls like some of his rear motor bearings.
The way I read the noe on his site says blue seals face each other so at least one of your bearings(front) is facing the recomended direction.
