Yep.
The Gripz is non directional.
And the Blades have all the pins connected for less flex. It's basically a dual stage Turbo Trax.

I can't wait to test them out.

stu541 12-15-2010 02:46 PM

how was the compound? are the ultra flex like the axeman uf or like the condor uf. I know mine feel, look, and smell completely different between the two tires.

deadmancourt 12-15-2010 04:17 PM

THANK YOU MATT SISTRUNK AKA "PUDDIN" FOR ADDING ME TO THE TEAM!.....I CANT WAIT TO GET SOME GREAT RESULTS FOR VP-PRO-USA LIKE ALL OF YOU HAVE BEEN DOING:D

Andrew Smolnik 12-15-2010 05:57 PM

Stu541,

I know what you mean. The compounds are actually the same. The axeman feel softer because of the pin height and shape making them feel softer. The Condor pins are short and stubby which allows for less pin flexx making the pin feel harder.

The Blades pictured above would feel more like the Axeman wheras the Gripz have a stiffer more reinforced pin. ; )

Hope that helps.

stu541 12-15-2010 10:09 PM

I'm sold either way. mainly curious. I have been running vp pro since they hit the states. I love the way they wear and the traction I get. up here I could probably get by with axeman and condors alone. Be nice to get some truggy tire in those. But with these new treads I will definately be dialed anywhere. Thanks Gene, and Andrew for hooking us all up. :)

deadmancourt 12-17-2010 02:26 PM

What tires and compound do you guys recommend for Truggy?.....i run on hard packed, dusty tracks that get watered.....thanks in advance guys

VPProUSA 12-17-2010 02:31 PM

UF Turbo Trax or Cutoffs. If wear is high, then Medium Flexx.

secondhand_rc 12-17-2010 02:33 PM

when are the new tires expected to be sold to the public? i have the cutoffs and there awesome tires! calibers work very well on our track so i expect the gripz to do the same!!

I think the turbo trax will be better. Since wear is high you might want to go with medium flex like Gene said.

I want to send a special thanks to all of the vp pro staff for getting me tires quickly for my races down in houston tx.I recently ran the axman uf compound and they are awsome with good wear in this cold weather........

VPProUSA 12-20-2010 01:43 PM

The new tires should be here March 1st. Including the new SC Axman and 1/10 buggy tires.

How is everyone liking the VPPro M Wing? Any better than a stock Losi? I just bought one. Waiting for the warmer weather to try it out at the track!

Also, Thanks to Vp Pro for shipping so fast on my order!

that thing looks sick on your buggy!

....i was just wondering if i run at tracks that eat tires...should i run the Turbo Trax or the Cuttoffs for truggy?....i just dont want to only get 1 run out of them:lol:....thanks in advance guys

stu541 12-20-2010 06:57 PM

deadmancourt. which one works the best? I would run that one and go to a harder compound, either medium or even hard. Once the axeman truggies are out they should last longer than the cutoffs too. Axeman truggies will be "THE" tire!

i know i cant wait:lol:...im just wondering cause i havent ran these tires ever...and i just picked up the sponsor and was gonna order some stuff by i only have enough $ for 1 full set of truggy tires and wheels to go with the rest...or else i would just order a set of turbo's and cutoffs:D....what do you reccomend for my first set?....i run at hard packed places that get dusty but also get watered...but not muddy:lol:

jonw 12-21-2010 07:51 AM

Is the tool set shown on the website available? If so what is the part number?

stu541 12-21-2010 10:58 AM

deadmancourt, I would think bcuz they water you will want the cutoff. the turbos will probably pack up in that situation. unless it is clay and no fluff at all. Turbos are more of a groove or clay tire. start with mediums. the vp pros last longer than most anyways. And good luck!

deadmancourt 12-22-2010 12:08 AM

what size are the Vp-Pro Wheels?.. 3.25? 3.7?

pntmachine 12-22-2010 05:16 AM

The VP Pro truggy wheels are an LPR type rim. I like the Turbo or small pin even on a wet track because they load less than a larger pin. Turbo Trax ultra flex are an awesome choice, thats all I run.

Thats all that I use as well, very reasonably priced and just as good of quality as anything else. I wish there was a little bit bigger selection on diff oil weights, but I work with what I got ;)

Just an observation

I was at an event a couple years ago and noticed some VP Pro tires. They looked very high quality. I would think the tires are capable of winning a number of races. The problem that I've seen though is that there is not a single guy (that I'm aware of) anywhere in the midwest running them. I would think it would be in the interest of the company to pick up a couple drivers. The Omaha Hobbyplex is a huge growing racing community that makes most of the so called "big" tracks look small. It could be a start. ;) Again, just an observation... no ill intent at all :)

VPProUSA 12-26-2010 08:37 AM

10,000cts is coming soon. And I mix 1k & 3k 50/50 to get 2,000.

We have a strong team in the West, FL, and the South, as well as several drivers in the East & North East. But we are still looking for good reps in the MidWest.

tony montana 12-26-2010 08:52 AM

the vp tires are just as good as aka and proline's. Cant wait to get my hands on the newer ones they have coming out

deadmancourt 12-26-2010 10:50 AM

anybody know when the new TRUGGY tires are coming out?

Gene,

I can think of a couple good ones. LMK ;) We have a couple guys around here that are good mentors and great drivers. :)

what about truggy!...there are alot of guys wanting a new tread for truggy!

VPProUSA 01-03-2011 06:11 PM

I've never been to a track that STR Turbo Trax did not work good.

Even indoor tracks were Barcodes & taper pins are supposed to be all that works. About half the field was using Ultra Flexx Turbo Trax at the New Years Nitro Blast. They TQ'd & Won 1/8 Pro Truggy, 1/8 Pro Buggy, 1/8 Sportsman Buggy, and I think 1/8 Sportsman Truggy - 1st and 2nd were on turbo trax when I stopped watching.

+1....I run the Turbo Trax on buggy and truggy, indoor, outdoor, bluegroove etc...primarily in ultra flexx compund here in fl. but these tires are dialed. looking forward to those new tires for the Buggy tho, you know they are gonna be hooked up....just sayin'
