I thought according to the "break in bible" that a stand wont be used? That you just break it in in a parking lot.

That's usually my preference. I'm not a big fan of break-in stands unless you have to break-in a lot of engines or if you're in a big hurry. Break-in stands can be used any way you like, but they're intended for slobbering rich, WOT break-in and the prop just gives the engine a fair amount of load. I much prefer to break-in the engine in the car.

Wondering what to do with an old Nomadio Sensor radio one day. Mate it up to a Hudy break in stand. Now I have temp, RPM's, throttle control and I don't have to stand right on top of the thing.

As info, somewhere between 15,000 and 17,000 RPM's it sounds like the world is coming to an end so it may not be turning up what you think it is on the bench.
